About Us:
The Global and Intercultural Affairs (GIA) Center imagines a community of empowered global citizens building a just peaceful and sustainable world. Guided by our Marinianst values the GIA Center provides leadership strategic direction coordination and support for the internationalization and global learning of campus. In collaboration with other University departments partners and communities we offer innovative programs and services to enhance global and intercultural education support student success and promote diversity access equity and inclusion.
The University Honors Program supports more than 1000 high achieving and highly motivated students across the university. Working with each of the undergraduate academic departments we manage the Honors curriculum lead many local and global signature programs award scholarship and research funding and partner with many offices on campus (such as Housing and Residence Life Career Services and Enrollment Management) to support student success and belonging.
Some aspects of the role include:
Provide support for the daily functions of operations (directing inquiries/calls review/approval of expense transactions time card/sheet approvals processing of invoices e or paper PAFs ordering supplies office/building management etc.
Support the team in advancing the mission and objective for the office by providing logistical and administrative support for gatherings programs events meetings (taking notes coordinating room/food reservations etc.
Support the creation of a welcoming and inclusive office environment (i.e. multiple stakeholder such as students faculty/staff families external partners)
Associates Degree or at least 45 hours of college coursework
Two years work experience in student services or administrative setting
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and records
Effective computer skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Effective customer service orientation
Effective budget management and purchasing skills
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
Bachelors Degree
Ability to process PAFs check requests and other basic university financial processes
Demonstrated proficiency with GoogleSuite MS Word Excel and University software programs (Cognos Porches Degree Works Banner and Runway)
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills attention to detail effective time management and collaboration
Ability to interact with diverse stakeholders (students families faculty staff external constituents) in a culturally sensitive and professional manner
Event planning experience
Demonstrated experience scheduling and facilitating logistics for meetings
Knowledge of and sensitivity to a Catholic Marianist work environment
