Belmont High School in the heart of the beautiful Lakes Region of New Hampshire is seeking a dynamic fulltime English teacher to deliver the established competencybased curricula to our students from Belmont and Canterbury. Beginning in the fall of theschool year this position may be assigned to teach a range of subjects within the English content area including English 912 courses as well as possible electives classes. Experience in an environment committed to standardsbased instruction and assessment is preferred. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Create written instructional objectives for courses taught and for units in the assigned courses. 2. Establish appropriate instructional objectives that are consistent with the schools goals and departments curriculum. 3. Actively collaborate with other building/district professionals to maximize our collective impact on students success. 4. Correlate learning activities with instructional objectives. 5. Effectively integrate appropriate technology. 6. Prepare and maintain written plans and modify them as necessary in order to respond to students needs. 7. Implement a classroomlevel behavior management program assisting students in learning and demonstrating responsible behavior. 8. Respect confidentiality. 9. Submit progress reports on each student in the formal education program with recommendations as to further development. 10. Through proper channels review and purchase appropriate instructional materials to meet individual needs that support the curriculum. 11. Utilize homework as a tool for the reinforcement of instruction and coursespecific skills. 12. Supervise or assist in field trips recreational activities and/or other extracurricular programs for the benefit of the students. 13. Uphold and enforce school rules administrative regulations and Shaker Regional School Board Policies. 14. Attend staff meetings and contribute to school committees and work groups. 15. Perform related duties as REQUIREMENTS: QUALIFICATIONS/RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Proper certification/eligibility certificate in endorsement 0500 from the NH Department of Education. Bachelors Degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in education. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with teachers agency personnel students parents and the public. Knowledge of education techniques and methods. Ability to work with all students including those who possess educational disabilities. Ability to adapt teaching methods to students individual learning styles. Willingness to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities.
