Position Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)


Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)


Location: Potiker Family Senior Residence


Status: FullTime Exempt

Serving Seniors is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of older adults by providing essential services advocacy and community engagement. Our mission is to help seniors in poverty live healthy and fulfilling lives.


Position Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the senior leadership team and will oversee the Finance Information Technology (IT) Facilities and Human Resources (HR) departments. This role ensures the operational and administrative functions of the organization are executed efficiently and align with the mission. A strong understanding of nonprofit accounting and compliance is essential. The CFO will work closely with the Accounting Director IT Director Vice President of Facilities Management Vice President of Human Resources and Business Process Manager to provide strategic direction and operational excellence across these critical areas.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities


1. Financial Management

  • Oversee financial operations including budgeting forecasting cash flow and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with the finance team to prepare and present monthly quarterly and annual financial statements to the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Manage grant accounting tracking and reporting to ensure compliance with funder requirements.
  • Oversee benefits administration and payroll.
  • Collaborates with the Finance Audit and Investment Committees to develop and monitor internal financial controls and policies.
  • Oversees annual audit.

2. Human Resources (HR)

  • Works closely with the CEO to support the VP of HRs strategic oversight of HR functions including recruitment onboarding performance management and employee relations.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws organizational policies and best practices.

3. Information Technology (IT)

  • Partner with the IT Director to set the strategic vision for the organizations technology infrastructure and digital transformation.
  • Oversee IT systems A/V system infrastructure and security to ensure efficient and secure operations.
  • Identify and implement technology solutions to improve organizational efficiency and data management.
  • Collaborate with the IT team and external vendors to maintain and upgrade hardware software and network systems.

4. Facilities Management

  • Collaborate with the VP of Facilities Management to develop and implement a strategic plan for facility improvements maintenance and capital projects.
  • Ensure facilities are safe secure and fully operational to meet the needs of clients and staff.
  • Oversee compliance with local state and federal regulations regarding building safety and accessibility.
  • Work closely with the VP of Facilities Management and housing development partners on affordable housing including budgeting corporate management and reporting of all required documents for project funders and other necessary parties.

5. Leadership and Strategic Planning

  • Serve as a thought partner to the CEO in developing and executing organizational strategy.
  • Work closely with department leaders including the IT Director VP of Facilities Management and VP of HR to ensure alignment of strategic goals and operational initiatives.
  • Provide leadership mentorship and professional development opportunities to department heads and staff.
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders to ensure crossdepartmental alignment and support.
  • Represent the organization in external meetings including with funders partners and community stakeholders.


Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Business Administration Finance Nonprofit Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 810 years of progressive leadership experience including oversight of finance HR IT and facilities in a nonprofit environment.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting including GAAP grant compliance and financial reporting.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning organizational development and team leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management software HRIS systems and IT tools.
  • Commitment to the mission of serving older adults with dignity and compassion.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience managing capital projects and facility upgrades.
  • Knowledge of fundraising and donor stewardship processes.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and cybersecurity best practices.

Pay: $150k to $180k Annual Salary DOE
