Sealant Coordinator/Dental Assistant
1020 hours per week/ Sept June $19.50/hour
Supervised by: Dental Care Coordinator
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule Sealant and Fluoride Outreach Programs within the South Lane Creswell and North Douglas school districts.
- Help provide Dental Screenings to children 012th Track information for Oregon Health Authority reporting.
- Prepare and distribute paperwork packets for consent to serve children during preventative services clinics.
- Attend yearly trainings at the Oregon Health Authority for School Based Sealant Program.
- Attend registration and open house nights to make students and families aware of services provided by South Lane Childrens Dental Clinic.
- Update and submit School Based Sealant forms for approval yearly to Oregon Health Authority.
- Maintain certification with Oregon Health Authority for School Based Sealant Program.
- Attend in person and virtual Oregon Health Authority trainings.
- Schedule and prepare reviews for Oregon Health Authority.
- Assist chairside in the placement of sealants and fluoride to children in the schools with a mobile dental setup.
- Maintain and organize consent forms charts and documentation from schoolbased sealant program and prevention clinic days.
- Support preventative dental health team in providing informed dental education.
- Provide transportation to children to and from dental appointments at South Lane Childrens Dental Clinic.
- Be trained to submit billing for sealants screening fluoride and Silver Diamine Fluoride.
- Other duties as assigned.
The perfect candidate with be highly skilled at multitasking and have the ability to change pace and direction quickly as well as take direction and work independently. Working with children is fun and rewarding however many different variables drive our clinic including volunteer doctors school schedules school administration staffing hours etc. Our patients range in age from 018 and often come from high risk families. We operate with volunteer dentists and we accommodate each individual working style. Job duties vary each week and change regularly. Additionally the program travels to Drain Creswell and schools at South Lane School District. Hours vary each week depending on the school calendars and volunteer dentists.
