Sam Houston Elementary School is excited to announce an opening for a K3 Elementary Education Teacher for the school year. We are committed to creating a nurturing and empowering environment where every child can thrive.
Certification Requirements:
- K6 Tennessee Department of Education certification.
- Proof of highly qualified status and related work experience.
Desired Candidate Qualities:
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Desire to build positive relationships with students and their families.
- Complete understanding of the K3 Tennessee Curriculum.
- Comfortable using data resources such as iReady Aims Web STAR Reading etc. with the ability to share results with appropriate stakeholders.
- Approach to using both formative and summative assessment data to drive instruction.
- Confidence in integrating technology into instruction and effective twoway communication with all stakeholders.
- Understanding of student learning styles ageappropriate instructional strategies and educational best practices.
- Commitment to helping students develop life skills to overcome academic social and behavioral concerns.
- Willingness to organize participate in and attend afterschool and evening programming such as performances parent meetings curriculum nights open houses and other schoolwide activities.
- Possess honesty integrity professionalism and a deep interest in teamwork and collaboration.
- Comfortable with classroom autonomy without a scripted curriculum.
Physical Requirements:
- All applicants must be able to perform any physical duties associated with this position (e.g. lifting 50 pounds regularly sitting for extended periods walking seeing standing for extended periods etc..

All interested parties should submit a letter of interest and a resume by April 25th to Molly Rice Principal at Sam Houston Elementary Additionally all applicants should complete the online application with Maryville City Schools. Selected candidates will be contacted if they advance to the next phase of the interview process. Interviews will be held the beginning of May with a team of administrators and teachers.
