Job Description

Come and build innovative services that secure the foundation of our cloud from security threats.
The Amazon Optics team builds and manages services that are used by AWS employees to secure our physical sites. Our services allow our customers to protect AWS locations and preserves the trust that all AWS users have in us. Youll work with other software development engineers every day that are as passionate as you are about building systems that are an essential tool for our customers in keeping AWS sites secure! The services you build are used around the world to secure assets for every single AWS customer!
Our team provides solutions where cant be done isnt considered an answer taking on the impossible and finding creative solutions. You will stretch yourself and grow. You will share your knowledge with others and help others achieve. Youll be empowered to automate away operational efficiencies for both the team and our customers. You will be challenged to solve complex architecture problems with solutions that are extensible and scale yet are dedicated to looking for ways to further simplify your solutions. You will work with the team on multiple products that are deployed to every AWS region using AWS services in a fully IaC deployment environment where you own everything end to end design development testing deploying.
You will join a team that values strong intuition but seek metrics and other data sources to back up their assumptions.


Key job responsibilities
Fully own a large physical security system program analyzing complex data collaborating with stakeholders and presenting compelling data to leaders (Directors Sr Managers) to deliver physical security software and systems solutions
Build strategic plans to launch new products and sunset existing products
Solve complex crossfunctional system challenges obsessing over the customer experience and delivering innovative and simple results
Engage with customers and program teams to optimize processes
Develop mechanisms to measure and track program health and delivery
Define and track goals over the short and long term with measurable outcomes and communicate program health weekly

A day in the life
Senior TPMs use their experience and judgement to translate customer needs into actionable plans. They use a combination of messaging and realtime interaction to keep programs moving forward predictably and ensure potential blockers are surfaced early and driven to closure escalating to leadership when needed.

Amazon Optics is the singular enterprise security product integrating the management of three main sectors of physical security: Video Management Access Control and Intrusion Alarming/Perimeter Protection. Optics further bolsters the security posture of our customers through AI Analytics. We eliminate hard dependencies on thirdparty and disparate systems in customer workflows; delivering a cohesive flexible solution while raising Amazons security bar.

5 years of technical product or program management experience
7 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
3 years of software development experience
5 years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules

5 years of project management disciplines including scope schedule budget quality along with risk and critical path management experience
Experience managing projects across cross functional teams building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multimillion dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
