Java Application Support Engineer Contract Up to $900 day
- Hybrid 3 days a week in office
- Sydney CBD

Were hiring a Javabased Application Support Engineer contractor to join a highperforming team within one of Australias leading financial institutions supporting complex cloudhosted banking applications.
This is a newly created position where youll have a chance to work with cuttingedge tools across cloud microservices eventdriven systems containers and realtime data all within a largescale production environment.
Youll be the goto person for triaging technical issues that impact customerfacing banking systemsfrom payments and accounts to loan servicingwhile collaborating closely with engineering product and incident response teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and resolve complex production issues in Javabased systems
Act as a key liaison between engineering and 24/7 support/incident teams
Investigate root causes raise bugs with dev teams and suggest fixes
Coordinate ticket handling within agreed SLAs and improve documentation
Contribute to tooling and process improvements for issue triaging
Participate in occasional oncall rotations and share learnings across the team
What were looking for:
Strong Java debugging and application support experience
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) containers microservices & APIs
Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases event streaming and CI/CD tooling
Familiarity with Site Reliability practices and performance monitoring tools
Excellent communication skills and a proactive solutionfocused mindset
