The Opportunity:
We are looking for 1 fulltime Research Midwife and 1 parttime Research Midwife to join the Edinburgh Pregnancy Research Team (EPRT) to support clinical trials and research studies in pregnant women/people and their babies. Based in the Queens Medical Research Institute and NHS Lothian RIE they will participate in one or more studies working closely with colleagues in EPRT NHS Lothian the Edinburgh Reproductive Tissue of the pregnancy journey from an antenatal clinic setting through to birth and beyond and the routinely collected clinical data and biosamples is essential. The post holder will have excellent communication skills and be able to plan and manage a busy workload according to the needs of the project(s). They will ensure the highest standard of care is delivered to research participants in accordance with the protocols Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (GCP) and applicable legislation.

The fulltime post is 35 hours per week and the parttime post is 21 hours per week; however we are open to considering parttime or flexible working patterns for both of these posts. In your cover letter please indicate whether you are applying for the fulltime or parttime role.
The salary for this post isper annum pro rata for the part time role. A market pay supplement equivalent to 7 of salary shall be payable in addition to substantive salary. Additionally the normal incremental pay range for these posts will be points 18 of the published scales.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Current NMC midwifery registration.
Knowledge of the pregnancy journey from an antenatal clinic setting through to birth and beyond and the routinely collected clinical data and biosamples
Time management skills and ability to prioritise workload is essential
Positive attitude and flexible approach to problem solving
Excellent team working skills with ability to work using own initiative effective listening and interpersonal skills
An Honorary NHS contract will be sought for the successful post holder. You therefore must be eligible to hold an honorary contract with NHS Lothian and must also be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council.
