Excel Academy is a network of 5 schools in Massachusetts and Rhode Island that prepares students in grades 512 to succeed in high school and college and engage productively in their communities. The majority of our 1700 students identify as Latinx or Hispanic and will be the first in their families to graduate from college. About the Role Excel teachers are responsible for delivering effective highquality rigorous collegepreparatory instruction designed to foster the success of their students. They also have a great deal of passion and expertise in their content area that they are eager to share with students. Duties and Responsibilities Provide inclusion support for classes containing ELL studentsCollaborate with teachers to help students master content and language objectivesProvide coaching to teachers around best practices for working with multilingual with department members on curriculum refinement and implementation;Design and implement rigorous assessments that evaluate student mastery of academic standards;Create a safe learning environment for all students by implementing Excels strategies and best practices with consistency;Provide coverage as needed during noninstructional time;Serve as a productive member of the Excel Academy community; andDo whatever it takes to ensure the mission of the school is upheldQualificationsA Bachelors degree is required; a Masters degree is preferred;Rhode Island certified (Middle Grades 58 or in the process of obtaining certification.
