The Program Assistant will provide administrative logistical and programmatic support to the Dean and Director of the College and Land Grant Programs. This role will focus on supporting USDA Land Grant Programs coordinating seminars and training engaging with community stakeholders and assisting with program development and outreach. The ideal candidate will serve as a key ambassador for CAFNR and its tripartite mission ensuring smooth of program activities while fostering relationships with partners government entities and community groups. This position will be fully remote.
This position is funded by a grant or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant or restricted funding.
This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
Responsibilities:
Assists with the coordination and administration of USDA Land Grant Programs ensuring alignment with institutional and federal requirements.
Coordinates seminars and training sessions on topics such as partnerships government relations and community development.
Provides administrative and logistical support for program proposals and funding documentation under the direction of program leadership.
Coordinates logistics travel arrangements and scheduling for program seminars workshops orientations and special events.
Assists in coordinating participation and registration for faculty staff and stakeholders attending 1890 development conferences.
Supports outreach efforts by sharing basic information about the Colleges mission and programs with visitors partners and the public.
Provides mentorship and guidance to community audiences fostering engagement and awareness of USDA Land Grant initiatives.
Organizes tours and outreach activities for signature events ensuring meaningful interactions with stakeholders.
Helps organize and schedule experiential learning activities related to USDA Land Grant Programs for students faculty and external collaborators.
Prepares and manages program correspondence reports and presentations.
Establishes maintains and organizes program files databases and other relevant materials.
Serves as a point of contact for scholarships and programrelated inquiries and coordinates responses to requests for information.
Participates in collegewide events representing the College in various institutional and external forums.
Works collaboratively with faculty staff and community partners to enhance program effectiveness.
Assists in tracking and evaluating program outcomes to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with strategic goals.
Performs other duties as assigned to support the success of the College and Land Grant Programs.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
No prior experience required.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree
Minimum of two 2 years of experience in program coordination event planning community engagement or related areas.
Experience working with USDA Land Grant Programs scholarship programs government relations or extension services is preferred.
Special Requirements:
Applicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelors degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have four years of related experience to meet the equivalency in lieu of a Bachelors degree plus the minimum required years of experience. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have a total of four years of experience.
