Job Title: Physician Emergency Medicine

Job Type: Locum Tenens

Location: Caribou ME

Service Setting: Acute Care Hospital

Coverage Type: Clinical Only

Coverage Period: 05/17/2025 Ongoing

Clinical Shift Schedule: 12hour night shifts 7:00 PM 7:00 AM); some day shifts possible

Patient Demographics: Pediatrics Adults Geriatrics

Patient Volume/Census: 16000 visits/year (approx. 44/day)

Case Mix: Emergency Medicine

FACILITY INFORMATION

No. of Beds in Department: 65

Trauma Level: Level 2

EMR System: CPSI

Specialty Backup Available: Cardiac Neurosurgery (via transfer to tertiary center)

Support Staff Available: RNs APPs

Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

Credentialing Timeline: 30 45 days

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Travel Lodging and Malpractice Insurance: Covered

REQUIRED PROCEDURES:

Emergency care procedures typical of a Level 2 Trauma Center

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Licenses: ME license (willing to license)

Board: BC in Emergency Medicine

DEA: Active DEA Certification

Certifications: BLS ACLS

Experience: Preferred minimum 2 years in specialty

Other Qualifications: Familiarity with CPSI preferred

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide care for emergency cases including pediatrics adults and geriatrics

Stabilize and manage trauma and acute care cases before transfer as needed

Work night shifts with possible day coverage

Maintain accurate documentation in CPSI system

Collaborate with support staff to deliver quality patient care
