Supervise and manage the cutting department s daily activities ensuring that materials are cut according to production requirements and specifications.
Ensure that cutting operations are done with precision to avoid wastage and meet production targets.
Material Management
Coordinate with the procurement and production teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials (fabrics nonwovens etc. for cutting operations.
Verify the quality and suitability of materials before cutting to ensure compliance with medical standards (e.g. sterilization nontoxicity).
Quality Control & Compliance
Ensure cutting operations adhere to strict quality standards particularly those related to medical textile production (e.g. biocompatibility safety).
Implement quality checks to ensure uniformity in the cutting process as medical textile products must meet precise dimensional and functional specifications.
Ensure compliance with ISO certifications FDA regulations and other medical textile industry standards.
Team Supervision & Training
Lead train and supervise cutting staff ensuring they are skilled in the operation of cutting machines and understand the importance of precision in medical textile production.
Maintain discipline and a productive work environment while focusing on safety protocols.
Organize training programs for new equipment or techniques.
Cutting Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Oversee the proper functioning and maintenance of cutting machines and equipment.
Perform regular inspections and coordinate with the maintenance team for machine repairs and adjustments.
Troubleshoot issues in the cutting process and find solutions to minimize downtime.
Production Planning & Coordination
Work closely with the production and planning teams to ensure that cutting processes align with production schedules.
Assist in the preparation of cutting plans and adjust schedules to meet urgent or unforeseen demands.
Maintain a detailed record of all cutting operations and materials used.
Wastage Reduction
Implement strategies to minimize fabric wastage during cutting processes contributing to cost efficiency.
Regularly review and optimize cutting patterns to ensure maximum yield from the fabric.
Educational Background:
A diploma or degree in Textile Engineering Production Management or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
3 years of experience in a cutting incharge or production management role preferably in the medical textile industry.
Familiarity with medical textile standards and safety regulations is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of cutting machines and tools used in textile production especially in medical textiles.
Attention to detail and precision in work.
Leadership and team management skills.
Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting abilities.
Familiarity with ERP or production management software.
Other Skills:
Good communication skills to interact with other departments.
Ability to work in a fastpaced and regulated environment.
Awareness of quality control procedures and industry regulations related to medical textiles.
Education
1 YEAR EXPERIENCE IN EXCEL
