EMERGENCY MEDICINE PHYSICIAN FTE & LOCUM OPPORTUNITIES

THE OPPORTUNITY The Emergency Department at Georgian Bay General Hospital is seeking talented and experienced Emergency Physicians to join our team Fulltime. Parttime & Locum opportunities are also available. Emergency visits range betweencases annually. Renovated Emergency Department with an isolation room with an adjacent anteroom and two trauma bays all with negative pressure precautions.

With an annual budget of approximately $80 million a robust staff of 800 professionals and a network of over 100 active professional staff alongside 70 regional affiliates and consulting physicians GBGH is a vital healthcare hub. Our services span acute care rehabilitation complex continuing care and Level 3 intensive care unit with exciting plans on the horizon. We are in the early stages of expanding our capabilities including a 2500 sq ft expansion to our diagnostic imaging department to add MRI services for our community a 50000 sq ft expansion off our emergency department to offer 24 inpatient mental health beds and planning for a new stateoftheart hospital facility. We are an extremely active rural academic training site. Our community and hospital is affiliated with the University of Toronto as home to the U of T Rural Family Medicine program. We are also a partner with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine as host of the Comprehensive Community Clerkship program.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) unrestricted license that allows the physician to fulfill the requirements of this position.
Fellowship in Emergency Medicine through the CFPC (Family Medicine route) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) specializing in Emergency Medicine. Candidates with experience in high volume and high acuity EDs will also be considered. Mentorship opportunities can be arranged please contact us for more details.
ACLS PALS NRP and ATLS certification Demonstrate competency in resuscitation principles.
Preference for given to candidates who have completed the CCFP EM designation FRCPEM or ABEM Board
Certified.
ADMINISTRATIVE & QUALITY
Participation in ongoing quality improvement and safety activities related to Emergency care.
Participation in hospital committees pertaining to specialty based on interests.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) unrestricted license that allows the physician to fulfill the requirements of this position. At least 3 years of experience managing acute inpatients as part of an interdisciplinary team Experience leading a team in a clinical environment Possess significant clinical and teaching experience. Have strong clinical expertise and clinical leadership skills, including the ability to recruit physicians
