Leadership Coach - Golden Leaf Schools

The Golden LEAF Schools Initiative is a $25 million program funded by the Golden LEAF Foundation with the aim to improve school performance in North Carolina schools through enhancing school culture leadership math instruction pedagogy and career readiness. Built on the Marzano High Reliability Schools (HRS) model the initiative provides participating schools with intensive coaching resources and support particularly in rural areas with economic challenges. Twenty middle schools will participate divided into two cohorts: the Transformative Schools Cohort (TSC) which will receive comprehensive interventions and the Personalized CompetencyBased Education Cohort (PCBE) focused on instructional transformation. The initiative emphasizes collaboration aiming to foster longterm educational improvements and workforce development across the state.

The Leadership Coach supports school principals and district leaders as part of the Golden LEAF Schools of Innovation initiative providing jobembedded and justintime guidance focused on comprehensive school improvement. Working closely with the Math Coach and Formative Assessment Coach the Leadership Coach ensures that curriculum and formative assessment implementations are effective and that principals are equipped to support these initiatives in their schools. The Leadership Coach collaborates with Marzano coaches to align and enhance leadership support serve as a connector to the project implementation team and guide school leaders through strategic improvement efforts.

This is a fieldbased position which requires extensive travel in the state to provide instruction leadership coaching and collaboration.

• Demonstrated experience utilizing school improvement principles such as including datadriven decisionmaking instructional leadership and/or strategic planning.
• Demonstrated experience facilitating professional development data discussions and/or strategy sessions for various stakeholders.

• Proven experience in coaching principals or district leaders with a focus on building leadership capacity and supporting instructional best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams particularly with instructional coaches and project implementation staff to ensure seamless support.
• Proficiency in guiding leaders to use curriculum assessment and improvement frameworks to support teacher and student success.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with school and district leaders.
• Strong communication skills capable of presenting complex information in a way that is accessible and actionable for principals and district leaders.
• Familiarity with the High Reliability Schools (HRS) framework and Marzano researchbased strategies.
• Prior experience in North Carolina public schools or a similar educational context.
• Experience working on school improvement grants turnaround schools or similar initiatives.
• Licensed School Administrator

Masters degree in the education field to which assigned from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressively responsible experience in the assigned area of public education with at least two of those years in a supervisory/lead capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
