Job Description

ERG is seeking a Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician with mid to seniorlevel experience to assist with facilities projects for a Department of Defense (DoD) client. In this role you will perform HVAC Maintenance support such as assisting with HVAC installations routine maintenance repair and troubleshooting related to mechanical electrical and lowvoltage controls. The position is based out of a federal site in Indian Head Maryland. The ideal candidate should be capable of scoping estimating and planning for minor HVAC repair projects and must be motivated with the skills to prioritize perform and communicate effectively in a fastpaced environment.

This position will be fulltime at the federal site in Indian Head MD and will include interaction and support from ERG personnel at the federal site as well as from ERGs Chantilly and Arlington offices. Indian Head is approximately 30 miles from Washington DC 25 miles from Alexandria VA and 60 miles from Fredericksburg VA. Alternative work schedules may be considered.

Job Description:

    • Install maintain and repair commercial heating ventilation and cooling units.
    • Diagnose and repair electronic mechanical and electrical components of these systems.
    • Preventative maintenance troubleshooting and repair to a variety of commercial HVAC systems chillers boilers water source heat pumps cooling towers package rooftops split systems controls pumps DOAHs VRV/VAVs.
    • Support the full life cycle of smallscale projects from initial concept design through project completion.
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks on facilities and equipment including HVAC electrical BAS and digital controls and other mechanical systems.
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with facilities mechanical and electrical equipment multizone and multisystem interfaces and repair or replace defective parts as needed.
    • Conduct site visits to document existing facility conditions and develop new requirements.
    • Prepare technical memoranda/reports to document facility conditions and project status.
    • Ensure that all facilities are in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
    • Maintain accurate records related to maintenance activities and administrative tasks including work orders preventive maintenance schedules equipment inventory and time sheets.

Qualifications and Skills:

    • Minimum of 5 years of commercial HVACexperience without a license or certification OR 2 years of experience if licensed/certified
    • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in facilities maintenance engineering or a related field preferred.
    • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Refrigerant Reclamation and Recovery Certification
    • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints.
    • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC electrical plumbing and other mechanical systems.
    • Be familiar with a wide range of equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
    • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) required
    • Familiarity with state and local building codes OSHA regulations and NFPA standards a plus.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secretlevel security clearance; Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
    • This position will require a preemployment physical exam.
    • This position requires lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
    • Work may be performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes dust heat ionizing and nonionizing radiation and chemicals). You may be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
    • Must be able to stand walk push pull squat bend and reach during shifts.
    • Must be able to use carts dollies hand trucks and other gear to move items around.
    • Must be able to go up and down stairs. (where applicable)
$65000 $90000 a year
