Hospital Staffing Enforcement Compliance Specialist (Compliance Specialist 3 2 Positions (Hybrid)Job Description:
These are fulltime permanent classified positions represented by a union SEIU Human Services.
What will you do
As a Hospital Staffing Enforcement Compliance Specialist you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Oregons hospital staffing regulations. You will achieve this by collaborating with the hospital staffing compliance team managing enforcement actions related to civil money penalties safeguarding due process rights coordinating preand posthearing conferences and preparing cases for presentation by the Department of Justice. Key responsibilities include coordinating notifications related to meal and break complaints forwarded to the Bureau of Labor & Industries supporting the Nurse Staffing arbitration process and facilitating Hospital Staffing settlements. Additionally this role will collaborate closely with other Compliance Specialists and hospital staffing personnel to establish best practices for tracking and managing cases throughout the compliance process.
What we are looking for:
Minimum Qualifications:
Five years experience doing administrative research in hospital regulatory services or a related field that included drafting legally sufficient notices ensuring due process requirements are met and compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action or decide compliance or eligibility with program guidelines and regulations. Three of the five years must be above the technical support level.
A minimum of an associate degree is required bachelors or higher is preferred.
Desired Attributes:
Experience and knowledge of hospital staffing systems.
Experience in administrative hearing processes.
Experience with relevant statutes administrative rules and regulations demonstrating the ability to analyze interpret and apply these in complex situations.
Experience in effectively communicating complex technical and legal concepts in both written and oral formats making them accessible to individuals with diverse educational linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
Experience in administrative research which involves gathering and assessing information to provide recommendations for management actions or to ensure compliance with program guidelines and regulations.
Requires valid drivers license with good driving record or other method of transportation.
Experience in addressing complex problems while adhering to statutory and regulatory constraints.
Demonstrated ability to learn understand retain and reference information across multiple and significantly different programs while effectively managing stressful situations.
Knowledge of methods and techniques for analyzing reviewing interpreting and coordinating services offered across various provider types and a diverse range of complaint populations.
Demonstrated proficiency in effective communication both written and oral along with the application of documentation principles.
Experience in analyzing and interpreting information to resolve problems and complaints along with the ability to make independent decisions.
Demonstrated experience navigating the dynamic landscape of federal or state statutes regulations policies and procedures.
Proficient in electronic information systems the Internet and email communications.
Experience creating promoting welcoming and maintaining a culturally competent and diverse work environment.
Working Conditions:
The work of this role may be primarily conducted remotely with full access to the needed operating systems and technology. There may be times when the work will need to be conducted onsite. The onsite location is located at 800 NE Oregon St Portland OR 97232.

Additional Information:
The salary listed is at the nonPERS rate. Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) eligible employees will have their base salary increased by 6.95 and pay the 6 employee contribution to PERS. If you are not yet PERS eligible the 6.95 pay increase and employee contribution will be effective upon PERS eligibility.
