Job Description
Innovative Conservation Efforts:Be part of a forwardthinking team dedicated to preserving wildlife and educating the public.
TheHoofstock Teamis responsible for a variety of animals including one of the largest giraffe herds in the United States Grevy zebra okapi springbok Indian rhino a pygmy hippo breeding pair and numerous other species. This team is hardworking and dedicated not only to the care of their animals but to the growth of their team and themselves individuals. This team is willing to put in the time and effort to have hard conversations about teamwork care and training for the betterment of the animals. In addition to being part of numerous successful breeding programs the hoofstock team takes part in encounter stations and ambassador animal training around the park.
- Combination of education and handson experience with exotic taxa that provides the required skills for the position
- Excellent public speaking and customer service skills
- Desire to grow as a team member animal keeper and human being
- Ability to stand or walk and be able to perform physical work outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to bend stoop and lift 5075 pounds when necessary
- Ability to work long hours weekend weekdays holidays and everyday
- Starting hourly rate of $14.50/hr with pay modifiers for previous FT Keeper experience
- Year round fulltime position
