Job Description
Applications will be considered on an asneeded basis determined by department need. This position may close early if the hiring need is filled or do to volume of applications received.
The responsibilities of parttime teaching faculty are:
Advise students as needed.
Instruct sonography didactic and laboratory courses as needed.
Maintain student records i.e. grades attendance exams assignments competencies etc.
Maintain current knowledge of sonography specialties as required by course.
Participate in CAAHEP accreditation activities to support the continuing accreditation of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at CSN.
Participate in program department school and collegewide committees.
Courses may be day evening and/or weekend classes.
Additional related duties include academic advising curriculum development and service to the institution and community.
Required Qualifications
Associates degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from a CAAHEP accredited program.
Must be currently registered through the ARDMS or CCI in at least one sonography specialty.
At least 2 years of experience in practicing sonography.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching experience in sonography either didactic laboratory or clinical.
Previous teaching experience in higher education.
Experience teaching and/or working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
Experience with curriculum development.
Demonstrated knowledge of course and classroom management.
Salary Information
$925 per Instructional Unit for Lecture Classes.
$46.25 per hour of Lab or Clinical Instruction.
Parttime instructors are not specifically evaluated on Professional Development or Service to the College or Community. However CSN encourages parttime instructors to continue to develop their skills further their education and contribute to the College and Community through service activities. Therefore space will be provided on the evaluation form where as an option the evaluator can list various activities in which the parttime instructor has been engaged during the evaluation period which contributes to either professional development or College/Community service.
