Summary
Production Line Operator shall operate assigned Take Ups aid Extruder Operator in set ups as well as perform any other work assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operate assigned Take Ups. Assist the Extruder Operator in the set up and running of assigned machines. Receive proper work instructions Shop Orders or Routings from their supervisor. Turn ON all the proper equipment that must be used for the production run the Extruder Operator and Take Up Operator are going to set up and run. Coordinate the production runs with the Extruder Operators and Set Up Operators Inform the Forklift Driver what supply reels take up reels and materials are needed for the production runs being set up to run. Assists the Extruder Operator in setting up all necessary equipment and tooling throughout the extrusion line including but not limited to: a. Cleaning heads; b. Drain & clean hoppers; c. Changing & cleaning tooling; d. Pulling & cleaning screw; e. Loading compound; f. Drain & clean color meters; g. Put wire into pay off stands; h. All other duties in assisting in set up
9. Set up the proper take up reels on the take ups and change them as needed.
10. Set up and monitor print and printers.
11. Adjust take up speeds take up tensions traverse speeds etc.
12. Cut all wire lengths to proper footages called for on the Shop Orders or Routings.
13. Detect any faults or deficiencies in the wire by manually and visually checking for imperfections.
14. Retag and segregate all materials properly.
15. Ss wire as necessary according to SOP.
16. Read and understand all Standard Operating Procedures.
17. Follows all safety precautions in the machines Operational Procedures.
18. Must perform overtime as required
19. Must report on time and begin work at start of shift.
20. Must perform any and all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
