The University of Floridas College of Journalism and Communications (CJC) in Gainesville seeks an accomplished sports media professional to join our faculty as a Visiting Assistant In/Associate In for Sports Media position.
This position is a 3year appointment and is a 12month essential personnel nontenure track role designed for candidates with a strong background in any of the following areas: sports media production broadcast as well as experience across various media platforms.
The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching mentoring students managing content creation and participating in professional organizations with a focus on enhancing the educational experience in sports media. The successful candidate should offer distinguished service to its department college university and profession.
Key Responsibilities
Teach up to the equivalent of two threecredithour courses per semester.
Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students as assigned.
Promote oversee & teach select immersive experiences in our program
Manage student content creation within the Innovation News Center (INC).
Oversee and schedule student content coverage for WRUF and WUFT.
Collaborate and facilitate content creation with fellow managers within the INC.
Participate in scholarly and professional organizations.
Engage in shared governance and perform other duties as assigned.

Commensurate With Experience
Bachelors degree in Journalism Media Communication or related field.
Five years of professional experience in sports media production broadcast and communications.
Masters degree in Journalism Media Communication or related field.
Experience teaching in higher education.
A national reputation for excellence in sports media.
Experience with producing/editorial lead of a live sports preview or postgame show
Experience in producing live sporting events
Experience with sports playbyplay
Experience with Adobe Suite ENPS NewsBoss WordPress or similar programs.
Ability to oversee content creation and distribution on multiple platforms.
Capability to engage and mentor students in sports broadcasting/content creation best practices and techniques.
Commitment to institutionbuilding and collaborative initiatives at the college and university level.
