Conditions of employment and work environment:
- Up to: 1 temporary fulltime position for up to 18 months
- Hours of work: 36.9 hours per week Monday Friday
- Salary Range: $87611 $109514(Annually)
- This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite.
- Inoffice hours would be spent between several primary locations across the City: Mitchell Transit GarageSt) and Edmonton TowerAve NW)
- This position is eligible for the EDO program (Earned Day Off).

Join our team as a Strategic Coordinator for Edmonton Transit Service! Reporting directly to the Branch Manager you will play a pivotal role in supporting the strategic direction of ETS. This position involves providing expert strategy development on issues management initiatives and projects. You will engage in complex assignments with significant political impact confidentiality and stakeholder sensitivities. Working independently you will represent the Branch Manager and Leadership Team leading projects from inception to evaluation. Additionally you will directly manage two direct reports overseeing performance providing coaching and making key decisions regarding hiring and performance management. This is an opportunity to work independently and make a significant impact on ETS operations navigating complex considerations involving confidentiality human resources budget stakeholders and Council. This includes leading projects in terms of identifying issues planning implementing and evaluating expected outcomes.
What will you do
- Provide leadership research analysis and recommendations on branch and corporate issues
- Review and prepare reports and briefings for Council branch leadership and the Executive Leadership Team ensuring strategic alignment
- Identify and independently research strategic issues affecting the Branch implementing actions for the Branch Manager
- Liaise with Councillor Offices to address emerging issues and constituent concerns
- Organize and coordinate Branch initiatives contributing to vision mission and longterm strategic planning
- Develop and manage core crossfunctional business processes and related documentation
- Represent the Branch at various corporate and departmental meetings
- Provide expert advice and recommendations on behalf of the Branch Manager and in support of Corporate operations
- Conceptualize and lead complex confidential and politically sensitive projects
- Supervise the Reports and Correspondence Coordinator and the Workforce Operations Coordinator
- Define and contribute to strategic planning budget forecasts and environmental scans
- Support the Branch Manager through special projects reviews and adhoc requests
