    Purpose
    Jesuit education also known as Ignatian education is an approach to education inspired by the teachings and principles of St. Ignatius of Loyola the founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) a Catholic religious order. Jesuit education is known for its emphasis on intellectual rigor moral and ethical development and the holistic formation of individuals. Jesuit education is not limited to Catholic students and our own and many more Jesuit institutions welcome students of various religious backgrounds. The principles of Jesuit education have been influential in the development of a wellrounded valuesbased approach to education that extends beyond the classroom and into the broader community.


    Seattle Prep seeks a fulltime Mathematics teacher beginning August 2025.


    Mathematics Department Mission
    The Math Department at Seattle Prep strives to provide a highquality education in secondary mathematics where students discover develop and apply their talents to the fullest. Our students are consistently encouraged to seek a conceptual understanding of mathematics and develop their problemsolving and reasoning skills as well as their ability to work cooperatively think critically and communicate precisely (in oral written and symbolic terms).

    To facilitate this growth we employ a variety of teaching methods that aim to stimulate curiosity encourage persistence and incorporate technology use while reinforcing mathematics fundamentals needed for future study. Recognizing that each student learns differently department members provide opportunities that address the diversity of learning styles with care and compassion. We believe in challenging students both mathematically and personally so that they will strive for excellence throughout their lives. Students should leave their classes with a lifelong appreciation of mathematics both in itself and in its realworld connections.

    Essential Functions

    • Teach 5 courses in Preps Math program. Responsible for curriculum development assessment classroom management family communication
    • Collaborate with department teachers to ensure consistency and goals of the program
    • Engage fully in the life of the school: this includes supervision of students participation in meetings retreats professional development and all school masses and assemblies
    • Fulfill additional supervision duties of fulltime teachers (e.g. study hall)

    Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelors Degree in Mathematics or related field of study and a minimum of two years of related experience or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
    All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to Preps mission and values especially as it relates to diversity equity inclusion and belonging
    Supportive of the mission of a Catholic Jesuit high school and formation of the whole person
    Expertise with a variety of teaching methodologies and ability to teach various courses and grade levels
    Demonstrated experience collaborating with colleagues
    Willing participation in the cocurricular and Campus Ministry aspects of the school
    Demonstrated commitment to professional growth
    All employees must complete a criminal history background check and safe environment training upon hire and every 3 years

    Preferred Qualifications
    Masters Degree in Teaching Mathematics or related field of study
    Ability to teach various courses and grade levels
    Five or more years of mathematics teaching experience preferably in a high school
    Experience with Jesuit Catholic education
    Washington State Teaching Credential or other appropriate certification

    Compensation & Benefits:
    Salary Range: $66343 $118560 annually. Salary is determined based on skills and qualifications.

    Our outstanding benefits package includes an allowance of $19800 annually (prorated for parttime employment) that may be applied to benefits including medical dental vision life disability insurance and flexible spending account. Employees who do not elect insurance may choose to receive the benefits allowance as supplemental pay. Our 403b program includes up to a 7.5 employer contribution when employee match considerations are met. Tuition remission generous time off sick leave and a schoolsponsored medical leave program are also significant parts of our benefits package.
