Contract: Fixed Term (Until 31st March 2026 Part Time 0.6 FTE

Job Purpose:
The Change Partner is a central role in the Business Change and Capability Team taking a peoplefirst approach to leading on planning development and delivery of change initiatives. Working in partnership with project and business teams you will collaboratively define what success will look and feel like then follow through with plans and activities to make it a reality.
By developing an indepth understanding of what is important to your internal customers and considering this within the wider organisational context you will develop and deliver associated engagement activities and advise on appropriate content channels and support. A key part of this role will be developing collaborative open and trusted relationships and bringing people together to facilitate purposeful events and discussions in pursuit of successful outcomes.
Youll ensure alignment of communications and engagement activities with programme and organisational vision goals and objectives communicating the rationale for and the positive impact of changes to staff and other key stakeholders.
As a trusted advisor your role will be to work in partnership with the business and the Business Capability & Change team to ensure that the change roadmap is cocreated with colleagues ensuring a collaborative and supportive approach to change in Innovate UK.
This role will champion track and report on the appetite for change across the organisation and strategies for successful engagement and adoption of change. A key part of this role will be to ensure that effective change management communications and engagement is embedded throughout the Business Change and Capability lifecycle.
You will take a lead role on the team baselining measuring and tracking change readiness and adoption of change initiatives advising the Business Change and Capability delivery teams and senior management in Innovate UK of actions implications and plans to drive adoption and engagement of proposed changes.
This role will join the Business Change and Capability team and report to a Senior Change Partner.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Accountabilities:
- A proactive approach to change by developing relationships and understanding of key business areas opportunities are planned and prioritised to create a realistic and achievable roadmap for change.
- Ensure that business changes are assessed early on in within emerging projects and programmes facilitating comprehensive change impact assessments stakeholder mapping and adoption planning within the areas you are working in.
- Build relationships across the organisation which in turn support engagement and adoption of change across Innovate UK collaborating with colleagues and senior stakeholders to support delivery of change.
- Develop creative and context sensitive approaches to change and engagement activity that make the most of existing technology channels underpinned by relevant change management practice
- Designing baselining and tracking trends in adoption and engagement with the planned changes and producing strategies and advice to teams and checking actions are in place to drive adoption and engagements.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for relationship management of key business areas ensuring understanding what matters to them their teams and their stakeholders and customers.
- Work closely with the Business Capability and Change Leadership team including the Senior Change Partners and the wider team to identify define and support the business through change that matters most to them.
- Work closely with workstream leads and business owners to develop a compelling narrative around change and the overall story about the Innovate UK change journey.
- Role modelling a positive can do mindset in relation to change offering support and constructive challenge to those you are supporting. Influencing delivery teams to build in change activities into delivery plans and
- Assisting the Business Change and Capability Leadership team Programme Boards and People Operations and Change Board to have a clear view of the level and impact of change activities impacting our staff.
- Development of clear meaningful proportionate compelling and highquality communications which engage stakeholders and audiences at all levels.
- Coaching at all levels of the organisation Senior Responsible Officers and Programme and Project Managers on the practice of good change management.
- Facilitating sessions with senior staff and stakeholders to ensure Business Change and Capability can deliver complex and disruptive change in the most effective ways.
- Develop frameworks to be used by Programme and Project Managers to drive increased engagement and provide smooth transition of change projects into BAU.
- Supporting Programme and Project Managers in the coordination and production of communication activities which drive increased engagement and provide smooth transition of change into BAU
- Building and managing several standard engagement and adoption channels tools and techniques to support the delivery of Business Change and Capability ensuring the channels of communication are complimentary and appropriate to the organisations needs
- Work in conjunction with the Business Change and Capability team with the aim of influencing and improving the Staff Survey results relating to Management of Change.
- Managing engagement and adoption team and resources as required including line management and budget.

Person Specification:
Experience & Qualifications:
Essential
- Consulting experience ability to explore question challenge norms in a neutral and supportive way (S&I)
- Change Management qualification or equivalent experience. (S&I) Project Management qualification or equivalent experience would be advantageous.(S)An indepth understanding of change and the implications of taking individuals teams and organisations on a change journey.(S&I)
- Facilitation of engaging energising and impactful sessions with teams and groups that create alignment commitment to action.(S&I)
- Proven experience of leading and advising on communication strategies and tactics specifically to support change programme goals (S&I)
- Extensive experience of developing professional creative and engaging collateral for a wide range of audiences and channels with excellent knowledge of how to use different channels to maximise effectiveness (S&I)
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills and the ability to translate complex information into clear and accessible messages (S&I)
- Strong organisational and project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects deadlines and stakeholders. (S)
Desirable
- Familiarity with the public sector and/or grant giving organisations is desirable. (S)
