Summary




Public Health Seattle & King County seeks a driven Project/Program Manager III (PPM III) Quality Improvement Lead for our Family Ways program. Family Ways supports pregnant persons parenting families and children up to age five. All services are culturally relevant participantcentered and strengthsbased. Services are provided to 3 specific focus communities: U.S. born Black/African American the American Indian/Alaskan Native and the Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander communities.

The Quality Improvement Lead will report to and work collaboratively with the Family Ways CoLeads


The Quality Improvement Lead will work in a collaborative team environment to manage the policy and evaluation components of the Family Ways program. The team includes Peer Community Specialists a Public Health Nurse a Nutritionist a Social Worker and Administrative Support staff. This role will partner with the evaluation team to finalize and implement the Family Ways evaluation plan and facilitate program responsibilities within the evaluation process.


The Quality Improvement Lead will be responsible for developing and promoting program/policy recommendations in close collaboration with the Family Ways team Community Advisory Group community partners and evaluation team. Team members will be upheld to Family Ways Guiding Principles: leading with racial equity respect participantcentered services with strengthbased practice collaborative decision making accountability and continuous improvement in their services and programming.

Competitive candidates will have experience in working closely and collaboratively with individuals and families from one or more of the three focus communities as well as experience with client interaction in a variety of settings including home/field visits. They will be comfortable working with community partners and demonstrate effective experience in teaching and coaching and collaboration with others. Strong communication skills that are inclusive and inviting especially in difficult situations are essential. Competitive candidates will need to have experience in and the ability to participate in and assist with continuous improvement efforts.

This position works Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00pm 40 hours per week.This is a fulltime salaried position and is FLSA Exempt (not eligible for overtime).

With travel to various public health clinics throughout King County.

Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.

Some of the work associated with this position will be performed through teleworking and will report to office location and to meetings as needed. Travel to other work locations may be necessary. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. To support employees during this time King County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support working remotely.   • Expertise in parenting child development pregnancy and postpartum educational materials.
  • Experience on innovative evaluation efforts leading to model development and replicability.
  • Demonstrated skills and abilities working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders including families culturally specific and communitybased groups service providers and staff.
  • Ability to identify intersecting issues challenges and opportunities for collaboration across internal and external partners including strategies to promote equity.
  • It is desired or preferred that candidates have direct knowledge and/or lived experience working in at least one of these communities: U.S born Black/African American American Indian/Alaskan Native and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander communities.
