The North Carolina Community College System (System Office) is a statewide network of 58 public community colleges. The system enrolls over 500000 students annually. It is the 3rd largest in the nation based on the number of colleges. It also provides data to the North Carolina Learning Object Repository by collecting contributing and sharing digital learning resources for use in traditional or distance learning environments. The mission of the North Carolina Community College System is to open the door to highquality accessible educational opportunities that minimize barriers to postsecondary education maximize student success develop a global multicultural and competent workforce and improve the lives and wellbeing of N.C. citizens. The Human Resources Office is part of the Executive Division and reports to the Vice President Human Resource. The purpose of the Human Resources Office is to ensure the administration and implementation of a comprehensive human resources management system for the NC Community College System Office and to provide consultation and assistance and support to the 58 community colleges.

The HR Director reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and has leadership and accountability for a comprehensive Human Resource program within the North Carolina Community College System Office a state agency with approximately 240 employees. This position supervises other human resources employees. The position has responsibility for ensuring the fair and equitable administration and implementation of all human resource policies practices including recruitment and selection salary administration position classification employee relations grievances and appeals performance management personnel records equal employment opportunity training/development health and wellness workers compensation and employee benefits.

The recruitment salary is up to $114744.

This is a fulltime position 40 hours per week) withState Benefits.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet and deal effectively with superiors departmental employees the board of directors and the public.
  • Experience with change management and employee engagement.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and at least 4 years of experience in human resources including 2 year of experience in an HR supervisory position; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
