POSITION FUNCTION:
- Prepare curriculum materials delivering ESL instruction under the MOSAIC curriculum guidelines
- Create a welcoming and encouraging classroom environment both in person and online as appropriate
- Maintain student attendance records
- Planning for class field trips guest speakers and special events
- Assess and evaluate students using Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) indicators and Portfolio Based Language Assessment (PBLA).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Recognized undergraduate degree and a TESL Canadarecognized TESL certificate or a clearly documented equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience teaching adult ESL particularly using studentcentered participatory methods. Communitybased settlement and Literacy ESL experience an asset.
- CLB Bootcamp certificate or equivalent training is required.
- Working knowledge of the CLBs (Canadian Language Benchmarks) and PBLA (Portfolio Based Language Assessment) is an asset.
- Completion of Orientation to the ESL for Adult Literacy Learners offered through the Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks is considered an asset Competent degree of computer literacy using email word processing programs and learner management systems. Experience facilitating online learning environments is an asset.
- Highly organized tactful versatile and flexible with excellent communication skills; sensitive to and understanding of the needs of adult immigrant learners; attitudes and values in keeping with the goals and philosophies of MOSAIC.
- Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required
COMPENSATION: $31.26 $34.56 per hour

Multiple fixedterm positions. Various shifts are available AM PM and EVE.

Morning and afternoon positions are 3.5 hours a day per shift Monday Friday for a total of 17.5 hours per shift.
Evening positions are 3.5 hours Monday Thursday for a total of 14 hours.
All positions require instructors to be able to commute to the sites.
BENEFITS: A competitive benefits package is provided with contracts of at least 1 year in length and which offer a minimum of 17.5 hours of work per week.
