School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences
The School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences (SoMSS) at Arizona State University invites applications for a fulltime tenureeligible position in Actuarial Science at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The anticipated start date is Fall 2025. The Actuarial Science programs at Arizona State University established in 2014 and 2018 for the Bachelors and Masters degrees respectively have a total enrollment of approximately 100 students. Our Actuarial Science program obtained the Center of Actuarial Excellence (CAE) designation by the Society of Actuaries (SOA) in June 2024 which compliments the programs recognition at the gold level by the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS). The program also has an active chapter of the Gamma lota Sigma Kappa.
The essential duties of the position will be to conduct research and publish in appropriate toptier journals on theory methodology or applications in the areas relevant to actuarial science mathematical finance and/or risk analysis and to deliver highquality teaching in courses relevant for our undergraduate and Masters Actuarial Science programs mentoring students and engaging in professional service.
