Job Summary

The programming graduate assistant collaborates with the fulltime Scholarly Teaching staff at the Center for Integrated Professional Development in their mission to support evidenceinformed instruction on campus. This role is an opportunity for graduate students to explore the field of educational development by gaining handson experience performing directed research into teaching and consultations with graduate teaching assistants.

The responsibilities of the program assistant will include (but not be limited to) the following:

1. Collaborate with fulltime Center staff on the design and implementation of professional development events and programs for Illinois State University faculty including New Faculty Orientation and the University Teaching and Learning Symposium.
2. Collaborate with fulltime Center staff on the design implementation and facilitation of professional development events and programs for graduate teaching assistants at Illinois State University including the Future Faculty Learning Community and Course Design for Future Faculty.
3. Conduct research on various teachingrelated issues and develop artifacts to disseminate findings under the guidance of Scholarly Teaching staff (e.g. white paper annotated bibliography web content videos etc.
4. Consult with graduate teaching assistants on issues related to teaching and learning and provide pedagogical support including Small Group Instructional Diagnoses (Midterm Chats).
5. Engage in projects related to evidenceinformed pedagogy with Scholarly Teaching staff.
6. Other duties as assigned.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$2500/Month

Required Qualifications

1. Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook which can be found at Must be a degreeseeking graduate student at Illinois State University in English Communication Education Admin and Foundations Teaching and Learning or Psychology
3. Teaching experience or other experiences working with collegeage or adult learners

Illinois State University student employees are restricted to no more than 28 hours per week of oncampus employment for all positions held.
