Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Emergency Management Coordinator Boca Raton FL.

The Emergency Management Coordinator reports to the Director of Emergency Management. This position provides coordination support and assistance across all emergency management program elements operations and initiatives for the University. The Emergency Management Coordinator uses independent decisionmaking and judgment to support emergency management goals across preparedness mitigation response continuity and recovery. This position may supervise student interns or volunteers and serve as a member of the Universitys Emergency Operations Team. This position supports FAUs Department of Emergency Management before during and after all emergencies and incidents.

The goal is to provide local employers and new employees in the area a comprehensive guide with places to live.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelors degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and working knowledge of SharePoint required.

Ability to work nights and weekends as necessary and to work during emergencies affecting the University required.


Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

Experience in emergency management public safety higher education or a related field.

Demonstrated understanding of emergency management principles including preparedness response recovery and mitigation.

Strong public speaking skills with experience facilitating trainings briefings and tabletop or functional exercises.

Ability to develop and deliver engaging presentations and outreach materials tailored to a variety of campus stakeholders.

Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is desirable.

Working knowledge of Federal State and local regulations and guidelines related to emergency management.

Ability to communicate both professionally and efficiently in verbal and written communication.

Knowledge of webpage development and communication platforms such as social media.

$60000 per year.

This position may occasionally require evenings weekends or holiday hours and may need to be available or respond during emergencies or critical incidents that occur outside of regular business hours.
