Faculty Employment Opportunity

POSITION:

PartTime Lecturer in Theatre. The Theatre Department invites applications for a parttime lecturer pool to teach Theatre courses that serve the universitys General Education goals including: Introduction to Theatre Acting for NonMajors and Playgoing. Candidates should be prepared to document experience with students of diverse backgrounds and/or professional credits within the field demonstrating professional sensitivity to diversity and inclusion. Members of underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

M.A. in Theatre with compelling evidence of impressive undergraduate teaching or strong professional experience. Demonstrated experience working with students of diverse backgrounds.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

MFA or PhD strongly preferred along with evidence of impressive undergraduate (and certification or training) with online curricular delivery systems is highly desired (including hybrid and fully online teaching modes).

COMPENSATION:

Commensurate with qualifications and experience. As a member of the 23campus CSU System we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.

Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule and others are normally placed in Range 2. Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. The fulltime 15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules are prorated based on the number of units assigned and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. The university requires a criminal and/or child abuse background check to be completed for many of its new employees current employees seeking promotional or transfer opportunities and current employees assigned new duties. Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
