Primary Responsibilities
Summary Function: Sul Ross State University an NCAA Division III institution located in Alpine Texas and a member of the American Southwest Conference is currently seeking qualified applicants for a graduate assistant position in the department of athletics. SRSU sponsors 12 mens and womens athletic teams. Scope: The successful applicant will work closely with the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance Athletics Business Coordinator and Director of Athletics in generating a successful fan experience. In this role the successful applicant will be serving as the primary marketing contact for SRSU athletics. Duties Essential: Responsibilities will include but are not limited to overseeing all home sporting event operations; assist with recruiting hiring and managing of athletic interns and studentworkers; creating new strategies to market and promote SRSU athletics; consolidate ticket operations; assist with community outreach; writing public address and promotional scripts; update and maintain social media accounts; and other duties as assigned. Supervision Received: Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance Athletics Business Coordinator and Director of Athletics Working Conditions Usual: Office conditions; standard hours. May work evenings weekends and some holidays. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times. Position is security sensitive.
