Job Description

Position Description

The Equipment Finance Documentation Specialist II performs a variety of duties in support of Atlantic Union Equipment Finance (AUEF). The Specialist works closely with Regional Directors the AUEF Credit team internal department personnel and external customers to complete a variety of tasks associated with the origination and servicing of loans and leases. The Specialist II prepares documentation of equipment loans and leases and can work in a high paced environment to process new customers and new loan/lease equipment finance transactions with a strong comprehension of AUEF policies and procedures including industry regulations

Position Accountabilities

  • Responsible for driving all steps of the closing process on equipment lease and loan transactions with AUEF from evaluating documentation requests from Regional Directors and Capital Markets for completeness to booking/funding transactions.
  • Knowledge of various transaction and collateral types to determine required documentation and lien perfection method for each transaction including UCC filings titled vehicles marine (Coast Guard) and aircraft (FAA) transactions
  • Direct contact with customers including CEOs Presidents CFOs and Owners and Outside Counsel; Strong client facing communication customer service and negotiating skills
  • Documentation negotiation with customers and 3rd parties (vendors landlords etc.
  • Complete KYC/CIP/CBO process for new customers and transactions to ensure compliance with banking regulations
  • Prepare loan and lease equipment documentation to ensure transactions meet credit approvals bank policies and legal requirements for collection and collateral perfection
  • Review documentation on transactions being purchased by the Capital Markets team from third parties
  • Working with third parties outside attorneys and customers in the review and negotiation of loan and lease transactions and sale documents involved in Capital Markets transactions
  • Board transactions into the loan/lease accounting software system
  • Work closely with AUEFs Regional Directors credit personnel Accounting personnel and Loan Services
  • Perform account maintenance and research as needed
  • Prepare postclosing loan packages to include maintaining files and clearing exceptions and postfunding items
  • Image or file financial statements and documents as needed
  • Perform duties pertaining to credit reports insurance compliance and other items as required
  • Determining when UCC Lien Searches are required for a transaction ordering and reviewing searches determining when releases/disclaimers of interest are required for a transaction
  • Prepare tickets and/or wire transfers as needed
  • Process draws which may include title updates and inspections
  • Process payments and advances on loans
  • Prepare pay off quotes and handle releases
  • Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations governing bank operations

Organizational Relationship

This position reports to the Equipment Finance Documentation Manager.

Position Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in finance banking or other related field preferred
  • Minimum of five 5 years in Equipment Finance within a financial institution

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficiency with loan/lease accounting software system and loan modeling and pricing software
  • Software applications including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Excellent computer skills relevant to Microsoft Office Suites
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Well organized with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities and make independent decisions
  • Flexible able to adapt to change
  • Superior time management and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment

Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education work experience certifications etc. This position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
