Job Summary: The role of a CNC Machinist II is to use high level machining techniques and processes to produce accurate and quality parts. This position has attained full proficiency as a CNC Machinist I and can successfully apply CNC principals procedures and setups to execute machining strategies. Enthusiasm to further develop machining skills and the ability to demonstrate problem solving skills is crucial for success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Read and perform intermediate to complex machining activities in line with company capabilities
- Provide advice or solutions in technical areas for less experienced machinists
- Modify existing programs to enhance efficiency
- Design custom fixtures for work holding as needed
- Determine acceptable surface finishes
- Program and setup multiple machines to perform multi axis 31 and/or 32 indexing) machining
- Apply lathe concepts to machine parts more efficiently
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiencies for machining and tooling selection through research and development
- Perform essential functions of Machinist I
- Other duties as assigned
- Proficient knowledge of multi axis 31 and/or 32 indexing) setup and machining
- Basic knowledge of Lathe concepts
- Proficient knowledge of complex fixturing techniques
- Proficient knowledge of print reading high tolerance machining and geometric dimensioning
- Proficient knowledge of shop mechanics mathematics and measurement
- Proficient knowledge of material properties
- Proficient knowledge of commonly used hand and power tools
- Basic computer literacy

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma required
- 2year Machining Degree preferred
- 2 years experience with Sac EDM or 5 years of relevant setup and machining experience in a related industry
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers equipment hand/power tools etc. and handle and feel parts of various size
- Ability to bend kneel and crouch occasionally throughout a shift
- Ability to push pull or lift 50 lbs. moderately throughout a workday occasionally 50lbs with a team lift
- Ability to focus vision for: close vision color vision depth perception and adjusting to sharp focus
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Fastpaced environment
- Noise conditions can be moderate to extreme. Hearing protection will be provided if needed and/or by request
- Exposure to fumes and/or airborne particles
- Moving mechanical parts and vibrations
- Exposure to hot metal and machining components
- Exposure to various types of coolants and oils
- 1st Shift Work Schedule: 5 8hour shifts
- 2nd Shift Work Schedule: 5 8hour shifts
- Overtime as necessary
