As part of the Nolan School of Hotel Administration The Statler Hotel is dedicated to delivering unparalleled guest service and operational excellence. Statler Hotel employees proudly lead the premiere collegiate lifestyle hotel welcoming the world to the cherished gathering place for those who love Cornell University. The Statler Hotel also serves as a learning laboratory for Cornell students to gain practical hotel operational experience and hone their hospitality skills.

In this role the Director of Rooms will work closely with the General Manager to administer the Statler Hotels vision mission and goals. Key responsibilities include overseeing room operations ensuring guest satisfaction managing budgets and leading a team of dedicated hospitality professionals. The Director of Rooms will emphasize diversity equity and inclusion (DEI) in every aspect of their work collaborating with the General Manager to lead and mentor the team ensuring effective training consistent practices and compliance with Cornell policies. Additionally the Director of Rooms will assess and implement strategies to align with the Statler Hotels priorities advancing our steadfast pursuit of industryleading hospitality.

What We Need

Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management Business Administration or a related field.
35 years of progressive experience in hotel operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Comprehensive experience in managing room operations including guest relations performance management budgeting and operational management.
Proven track record in fastpaced highvolume environments demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships across diverse audiences.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a positive and professional demeanor.
Proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service and a commitment to ethical workplace practices.
Proficiency in analyzing operational data to inform strategic decisions with experience in metrics development and reporting.
Solid project management skills with a proactive solutionoriented approach to executing initiatives.
Rewards and Benefits
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Employees typically perform this role remotely 1 day per week and oncampus 4 days per week after the initial onboarding period determined by your supervisor. The university reserves the right to modify suspend revoke or terminate the hybrid work arrangement at any time.
