Production Planner
Huntsman is seeking a Production Planner supporting the Advanced Materials Division located in Akron Ohio. This position will report to the Supply Chain Manager.
Job Scope
Interpret and seek input across functional groups to build raw material plan and production plan that will drive operational activity in line with business objectives including balance of production and supply chain cost.
In summary as the Production Planner you will:
- Work with functional groups to build raw material plan and production plan.
- Manage Inventory levels within targeted ranges to optimize inventory and minimize excess.
- Maintain and understand short and longterm production capacities and material constraints.
- Respond to change in the plan in a timely manner with the ability to quantify the impact of these changes to the Key stakeholders.
- Support the needs of other supply chain operations within the organization to ensure coordination and alignment of planning activities with regional supply planners operations and logistics.
- Own and report on key KPIs to include OTIF DIO SLOB etc.
- Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
- Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
- Assists other employees in accomplishments of Huntsman company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
- Participates in Environmental Health & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes companyrequired training programs.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years of experience planning in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in supply chain/business administration or related field.
- APIC Certification a plus.
Skills and knowledge
- Must have a level of proficiency with Internet Email and Microsoft programs
- Excellent organization skills
- Good written and oral communication interpersonal and presentation skills
- Strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of inventory management
- SAP/ERP software process knowledge
- Knowledge and Experience in SIOP and IBP processes.
