The Position: Senior Assistant TenureTrack Librarian for the College of Engineering and Library Makerspace
Position Starts: Summer 2025

Salary: Salary commensurate with education and experience. (Anticipated hiring range: $7127 $15211 per month).

Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Library/Information Science from an ALAaccredited institution. Candidates nearing completion of the terminal degree may be considered; however all requirements for conferral of the degree must be met no later than the start date of the position.
- Knowledge of information resources research methods and current and emerging trends in engineering computer science construction management or related field.
Responsibilities:
Working independently and collaboratively with colleagues the Engineering Librarian works as part of the Research Instruction and Outreach department under the supervision of the Library Dean. The Engineering Librarian will provide research and teaching support to and collection development for faculty staff and students in the Chico State College of Engineering Computer Science and Construction Management (ECC). The successful candidate will be energized by working in a collaborative teambased environment with colleagues who are passionate about helping all of our students succeed. The Engineering Librarian develops and nurtures strategic partnerships across the Chico State campus and within the Meriam Library to continuously learn about students needs and expectations playing an active role in developing a culture of evidencebased and informed practice in the Meriam Library.
The Engineering Librarian will work with Meriam Library personnel to engage students across academic disciplines with the Meriam Library Innovation Lab which includes the librarys Makerspace through dynamic programming and outreach. The Engineering Librarian will identify strategic partners across campus and collaborate with librarian liaisons in other disciplines to integrate the Innovation Lab into academic departments across the university. Additional assignment areas will include reference service collection development and subjectarea liaison duties.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Serves as the liaison to the College of Engineering Computer Science & Construction Management (ECC) providing instruction faculty consultation and student research assistance.
- Works with administration faculty and staff to develop collaboration expand course utilization and increase patronage in the Makerspace (part of the Innovation Lab).
- Fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment for all library patrons.
- Develops shared instructional materials in a variety of formats.
- Pursues outreach efforts to engage the students and academic community.
- Engages in collection development activities in assigned subject areas.
- Collaborates with other information literacy and liaison librarians to develop and implement information literacy instruction.
- Participates in shared reference consultation and related research activities.
- Serves on library and university committees.
- Meets research and service requirements to attain tenure.
- Maintains an oncampus presence to support students faculty and community members with a schedule to be determined in consultation with the dean.
