Job Description
During the autumn winter and spring quarters of the 202425 academic year the Humanities Collegiate Division may have parttime teaching opportunities in various courses of its general education sequences (Humanities Core).
Humanities Core sequences that may offer teaching opportunities in 202425 are the following:
Readings in World Literature IIIIII
Philosophical Perspectives IIIIII
Greece & Rome: Texts Traditions Transformations IIIIII
Human Being & Citizen IIIIII
Reading Cultures: Collection Travel Exchange IIIIII
Media Aesthetics: Image Text Sound IIIIII
Language and the Human IIIIII
Poetry and the Human IIIIII
Further information can be found in the University of Chicagos College Cataloghttp:// Ph.D. in a humanistic discipline is required to teach in all Humanities Core sequences. A minimum of one year of experience teaching at the university or fouryear college level is required.
Responsibilities include preparing and teaching seminarstyle courses holding regularly scheduled office hours the preparing and grading of assignments and testing materials and attendance at regularlyscheduled instructional staff meetings.
Depending on curricular needs successful candidates may be offered between one and four classes in an academic year. In 202324 the minimum percourse salary was $7538. This position is not benefits eligible.
