Job Description
The PreK8th Grade Art Teachers responsibilities include being the yearbook editor sourcing art supplies preparing lessons and providing developmentally appropriate instruction on art techniques. She/he should also be able to supervise lessons to ensure that learners interact in a supportive and respectful manner.
Essential Functions
- Provide gradeappropriate instructional programs for students in grades PreK8 in the field of visual arts.
- Maintains an attractive organized and engaging learning environment.
- Develop lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocesan Course of Study.
- Uses relevant technology to support/enhance instruction.
- Maintains appropriate classroom management through positive behavioral interventions and supports.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of students progress in Power School.
- Provides regular and consistent communication with parents students staff and administration.
- Performs assigned duties when needed for the supervision of students before during or after school including lunch duties recess duties dismissal duties and any other duties assigned by the administration.
- Year Book editor and Liaison
- Participates in faculty meetings school committees and inservice learning opportunities.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Education
- Current MSDE certification or ability to achieve required certification.
- Prior successful teaching experience grade level education.
- Basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic school philosophy goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn about the integration of technology into lessons.
- Practicing Catholic preferred.
- Excellent communication collaboration and organization skills required.
- This position requires absolute confidentiality professionalism and a teamplayer approach.
- Support and uphold Catholic moral and social teaching and the mission of SJRCS (practicing Catholic preferred).
- Employment is contingent upon acceptable results of a state and federal fingerprint background check completion of VIRTUS Training and completion of all necessary paperwork.
- Demonstrates ability to operate with a growth mindset and seek opportunities for feedback.
Pay Range: $46000 Annualized
