Job Summary:
Perform basic and advanced level tasks involved in preventative maintenance repair and renovations of campus buildings systems and equipment to include but not limited to doors windows floors ceilings partitions office equipment/furniture; cut keys; repair install and maintain locks catches handles openers closers panic bars and appropriate hardware. Select materials and techniques used to maintain campus facilities and position is also considered to be essential during emergency situations and the incumbent is subject to being requested to report to work and will be required to periodically service as part of the structural team oncall rotation.
Supervision:
This position reports to the Structural Supervisor and will receive dayto day direction and guidance from the Structural Assistant Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years or 6000 hours work experience in construction trades (carpentry painting doors windows etc) including experience in cutting keys repairing locks repair and maintenance of electronic lock systems installation repair and maintenance of electronic/automatic doors panic bars and specialized equipment; ability to read schematics and blueprints and perform repairs and installations; good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently with minimal supervision ability to lift and carry 80 lbs. experience and ability to operate a variety of power/hand tools and testing/measuring devices; a valid NYS Drivers License and adherence to the policies set forth by the Office of Risk Management is required. Successful completion of a background check is required. Preferred: One year of prior experience working as a locksmith and/or directly with installing key control systems and hardware.
Work Environment:
Most work of the incumbent is carried out within a generally accessible safe indoor/outdoor environment. The incumbent must be able to operate power/hand tools used in daytoday operation of duties. The incumbent may be required to use scaffolding lifts climb ladders and stand for long periods of time while using power/hand tools and equipment.
This position is 40 hours per week 52 weeks per year.

Hiring Rate:
$23.6 per hour commensurate with qualifications and experience.
