Job Description

THE POSITION


Washington County Behavioral Health Divisionwithin the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is recruiting for aManagement Analyst I to support our Crisis Services!

The Opportunity
In this role you will support the management and submission of crisis services billing data and reporting requirements under the direction of the System of Care Supervisor. You will work with health systems community mental health providers and other community partners across the region and state to ensure compliance with data collection reporting and billing for crisis services in Washington County.
Primary duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Crisis billing system support
    • Coordination with crisis service providers to enroll staff with the state of Oregon for the billing system.
    • Build and set up billing rules employee credentials service codes and encounter categories within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) for crisis programs.
    • Partner with the EMR developers to set up electronic billing with Care Coordination Organizations (CCOs) billing systems.
    • Download and submit claims using EMRs billing system to CCOs as needed.
      • Adjust and correct any errors from claims submitted.
      • Review and process claim denials.
  • Crisis Report Submission
    • Partners closely with the Behavioral Health Division data analyst to pull the reports from the EMR system and submit to the State and CCOs.
  • Crisis Audit Support
    • Partners closely with the contract administrator for crisis services in the behavioral health division to develop/refine the audit tool used on audit reviews for our crisis services providers annually.
    • Support the review of the annual crisis services program audit.
    • Conduct a monthly EMR audit and provide follow up to crisis services providers for correction and/or training. Audit includes:
      • Identification of incomplete encounters/forms improperly admitted clients potentially missed client discharges and demographics data tracking.
  • Track and support implementation and communication of rule changes from Oregon Health Authority for Crisis Services.
  • Attend meetings with EMR administrator CCOs Behavioral Health Division Crisis Operations and Crisis Services providers as scheduled or requested by the System of Care Supervisor.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate for this position will be well organized and highly detail oriented. They will be skilled in computer applications including Microsoft 365 products such as Word Outlook Excel and Teams and will be able to navigate webbased data platforms. They will also have exceptional collaboration skills to partner with other departments/divisions to ensure that the work product meets county and grantor requirements. They will have the ability to follow highly detailed documents and instructions. As this position manages information in accordance with privacy laws an understanding of how and when to share protected health information with other parties is essential. Additionally they will be a motivated learner and team player with the ability to thrive in an environment that emphasizes traumainformed care and strives toward increasing equity and inclusion amongst its staff members.
Our ideal candidate will enjoy trouble shooting open to change and strive for accuracy. They will have tenacity and patience and follow through to see projects to completion.

It is highly preferred to have:
  • Experience with billing support tasks (submission of encounters claims etc. for government or community mental health programs.
  • Experience with data analytics.

Selection Process

  5. Conditional Offer: A successful candidate will require to successfully clear a thirdparty background check as a preemployment condition and Oregon State comprehensive background check as a condition of continuous employment.
