Job Summary:

The Department of Neurology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking to recruit dynamic candidates to expand its clinical and basic science research programs within our several of our subspecialties. The position is fulltime faculty with the opportunity for academic promotion which is determined on criteria of demonstrated excellence in the areas of education research clinical care and community service. We are seeking individuals who are collaborative communicative caring detail oriented organized proactive able to think critically focused on quality dedicated to personal growth and highly motivated.

The position is located at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Hours will be dependent on business need (i.e. patient volume schedules research study needs). We are the premier research university in Colorado serving more than 30000 undergraduate graduate and health professions students in Denver Aurora and online and awarding nearly 4000 degrees each year. The renowned researchers and awardwinning faculty offer more than 100degree programs through 13 colleges and schools. In thefiscal year the Universitys School of Medicine was awarded more than $516.2 million in research grants and contracts. The Anschutz Medical Campus includes over 5 million square feet of research educational and clinical space on 227 acres.

Key Responsibilities:

The duties in this faculty position will include teaching research and service responsibilities. The overall determination of research and clinical activities and allocation of time and effort will be subject to the determination of the Section Head.

Clinical duties may include responsibilities at the facultylevel for inpatient / outpatient services as well as consultations and emergency consultation of the Neurology Department. While on service obligations will include supervision of medical students residents and some fellows supervision of patient procedures and teaching of the housestaff as well as students.

Teaching activities including attending neurology services leading teaching conferences and training medical students residents and fellows.

Administrative responsibilities will include data entry into hospital systems development of critical pathways committee work and projects aimed at improving the specialty and department mission. It is assumed the bulk of this nonclinical time will be spent working toward the production of scholarship activities. Attendance at meetings and educational events of the department and specialty programs is expected. Other duties may be assigned as need arises.

This faculty position will work in the Epilepsy Section which currently has 11 Epileptologists 7 APPs and 2 fellows. The Epilepsy Section runs several multidisciplinary collaborative and critical care clinics including the Epilepsy pregnancy clinic Tuberous Sclerosis clinic NonEpileptic Seizure clinic Neurofeedback clinic Diet clinic Neuromodulation clinic Presurgery clinic Surgery clinic and Teleepilepsy. The Epileptologists and Epilepsy APPs also rotate through and are responsible for staffing the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and inpatient EEG service (cEEG). All of these activities take place at UCHealth or surrounding Denver metro assigned sites. The above salary range or hiring range represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is nonexempt.
