Job Description

JOB TITLE: Speech Language Pathologist

REPORTS TO: Special Services Director

JOB SUMMARY: This position assesses treats and provides services to students with speech language voice fluency and hearing deficiencies in a resource room classroom or other setting using treatment plans behavior plans 504 plans and IEPs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelors degree or higher.
  2. Currently holds State of Oregon licensure for Speech Language Pathology. Other certificates as determined by the district.
  3. Proficient with database software email internet software and word processing software.
  4. Criminal history clearance (background check and HB 2062.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Spanish speaking skills.
  2. Prior successful experience in a school setting.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provides intervention that is appropriate to the age and learning needs of individual students and is selected through an evidencebased decisionmaking process in accordance with the IEP/IFSP documentation.
  2. Demonstrates awareness knowledge and sensitivity in the area of language acquisition with linguistically and/or culturally diverse populations.
  3. Design schoolwide speechlanguage services that employ a continuum of service delivery models in the least restrictive environment for students with disabilities and implements a variety of service delivery models including pullout inclass and consultation.
  4. Consult and collaborate with teachers and parents to increase access to language in the curriculum in order to support development in the area of literacy across the language processes of listening speaking reading and writing.
  5. Identify implement and support students with the use of augmentative communication devices.
  6. Act as a member of the multidisciplinary team during the assessment process and evaluate students/children in the area of articulation voice fluency and language impairments.
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 195day contract at 1.0 FTE starting Fall 2025. Salary of $71200$106200 dependent on experience with excellent benefits including Medical Dental and Vision insurance and Oregon state retirement. Paid time off includes one sick day per month worked and two personal days prorated per school year. Benefit information can be found at Open until filled.
