As a member of this team you will have the opportunity to grow and make impact by defining the system architecture owning and implementing specific components and shaping the overall experience. Together we build highly available secure scalable distributed and eventdriven systems. As an SDE you will contribute to planning architecture design implementation testing and process improvement.

Key job responsibilities
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop new services that enhance security for AWSs global customer base. As a software engineer youll join a growing team of engineers focused on building transformative security services working to reinvent how Amazon and our customers perceive and experience security. You will help set technical standards and shape Global Services Securitys overall technical architecture and engineering practices.

A day in the life
You will collaborate with engineering teams across AWS to design deliver and refine solutions that make it easier for our global customers to operate secure and compliant workloads within AWS. Youll work closely with our business team to ensure a clear understanding of the core problem we aim to solve. Youll partner with Product Management UX Designer and developers to create appropriate user stories and a roadmap.

Since the development and career progression of our team members is a priority you will also coach and mentor others on the team to support their growth and achievement of career goals.

About the team
GSS Engineering has several teams distributed among several key development centers primarily within the US but also globally. The team is driving AWSs new security growth initiatives. Our vision is to secure the worlds workloads and create a brighter future for humanity. We work with customers and partners to develop security solutions that enable our service teams to deliver the right products and features. By harnessing securityrelevant data we gain insights and automate actions to mitigate customer security concerns proactively ideally without requiring any action on their part.

AWS Sales Marketing and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue adoption and growth from the largest and fastest growing small and midmarket accounts to enterpriselevel customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that worldclass support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building missioncritical applications on top of AWS services.



3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
