SUMMARY: The job of Library MediaSpecialist is done for the purpose(s) of maintaining library collection at school site; implementing ageappropriate programs for students utilizing library resources; selecting appropriate items in support of classroom instruction and educating students on the proper use of the library resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Skills are required to perform multiple technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: cataloging books/media; utilizing pertinent software applications and utilizing equipment used in profession.
Knowledge is required to perform basic math including calculations using fractions percents and/or ratios; read technical information compose a variety of documents and/or facilitate group discussions; and understand complex multistep oral and written instructions. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: knowledge of pertinent codes policies regulations and/or laws.
Ability is required to schedule a significant number of activities meetings and/or events; routinely gather collate and/or classify data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing using a variety of complex processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of widely varied types and/or purposes; and utilize a wide variety of types of jobrelated equipment. In working with others problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires analysis based on organizational objectives; and problem solving with equipment is significant. Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices; communicating with diverse groups implementing curriculum; and meeting deadlines and schedules.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a small work unit; and monitoring budget expenditures. Utilization of significant resources from other work units is sometimes required to perform the jobs functions. There is a continual opportunity to impact the Organizations services.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling; and significant finefinger dexterity. Generally the job requires 33 sitting 34 walking and 34 standing. The job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
