Job Description
The AWS Networking organization is hiring and were looking for motivated bestinclass Software Development Engineers (SDEs) to join our Core Network Engineering team. Within Networking were confronting and solving complex and highstakes challenges. Our teams support all aspects of connectivity between Amazons data centers and services. As a member of one our teams you will play a part in designing and operating networks that simply cannot fail must scale infinitely and can never constrain growth or innovation. For this role we are seeking Senior Software Development Engineers to join a hybrid team with Network System and Software Development Engineers working in tandem to build controllerbased routing solutions to support the rapidly expanding Core Networks. This is an opportunity to join a team where you can heavily influence the strategic and day to day decisions that shape how the team and our products mature.
Key job responsibilities
Senior Software Development Engineers in this team focus on developing scalable and operable software and system designs that allow us to automatically deploy configure and operate our inhouse built route server solution. They participate in the full project lifecycle from idealization and scoping to implementation and deployment to ensure timely delivery of highquality solutions. Our engineers require a strong coding skillset detailed knowledge of software development best practices depth in Linux operating systems and networking.
Candidates should have experience working on and driving large projects with ambitious timelines and ideally using agile methodologies to manage their delivery. We expect engineers to work closely with peer and dependency teams within Networking to deliver the right solutions for our customers. The ability to collaborate and influence are a must. Our Engineers contribute materially to each teams roadmap and constantly help us to determine whats most important. Together you and your leadership team will decide on the projects that best support your teams mission.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words were the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers storage networking power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. 5 years of noninternship professional software development experience
5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
