Job Description

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Sr Material Handler. Youll have a meaningful role in our mission.

A Day in the Life:

  • Efficiently and safely operate assigned machinery performing simple maintenance and necessary adjustments.
  • Participate in line opening and machine setup.
  • Follow all written procedures and report discrepancies to the Area Supervisor.
  • Document work accurately ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Monitor products continuously for defects.
  • Suggest improvements for the production process.
  • Assist in the training and development of peers.
  • Ensure materials and supplies are delivered to the production line maintaining continuous workflow.
  • Handle waste management and disposal in compliance with regulations.
  • Apply SAP for tracking inventory materials and production data.
  • Occasionally support operational needs on the production line.
  • Operate a forklift for material transport.
  • Maintain a high pace to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Adapt to various tasks and responsibilities as required.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience in manufacturing operations production or a related field required.
  • Experience in a cGMP environment preferred.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating a forklift preferred.

Knowledge Skills Abilities:

  • Proficiency in English including technical and scientific language.
  • Basic math skills including addition subtraction multiplication and division.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in SAP for inventory and production tracking.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours a day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements including pushing pulling lifting twisting bending grasping and crouching.
