Quinnipiac Universitys School of Nursing invites applications for PartTime Faculty Instructional Trainers to join a team of educators who will provide laboratory and clinical education for our newly established Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Training Program.
This program is offered in a hybrid format: online didactic on ground laboratory experiences and handson clinical learning in local longterm care facilities.
This position requires weekend commitments with days and occasional evening shifts. PartTime Instructional Trainers may commit to one or more cohorts as well as either in laboratory or clinical or both instructional venues.
Experienced and new nurse educators are encouraged to apply as well as staff nurses who have an interest and understanding of the CNA role. QU Nursing is highly collaborative and supportive and offers mentorship and training to support our nurse colleagues who are new to laboratory and clinical education.
The School of Nursing serves a total of 1100 graduate and undergraduate students. Faculty and staff work with colleagues in our Center for Medicine Nursing and Health Sciences and all schools across campus to create innovative interprofessional educational experiences that prepare students for todays health care challenges. The Center is located at our North Haven CT campus and encompasses 325000 square feet designed for collaborative learning including 48 prosection stations 16 standardized patient rooms an exceptional health sciences library 7 highfidelity simulation rooms including 2 ORs and a PACU health assessment and skills labs advanced diagnostic imaging equipment and classrooms outfitted with the latest technology. As one of 15 schools in the nation with holistically endorsed programs we emphasize the social emotional spiritual and psychological aspects of care as well as the physical throughout our nursing curriculum.
We offer traditional and accelerated second degree programs at the baccalaureate level. At the graduate level our Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) prepares baccalaureate graduates to become nurse practitioners specializing in adultgerontology or families; an online MSN prepares RNs for careers in midlevel management and includes quality improvement fiscal management human resources and informatics. Our Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program prepares postmasters RNs online in advanced leadership or specialized populationbased care.
