We are seeking to recruit a talented and highlymotivated Postdoctoral Bioinformatician to undertake bioinformatic analysis of sequencing datasets that support investigation of the molecular control of cell identity in stem cell biology development and metabolic ageing.
The postholder will work closely with all groups in the Epigenetics Programme on the analysis and integration of highthroughput datasets that investigate transcriptional networks and their epigenetic regulation during developmental decisions as well as the impact of age nutritional or metabolic factors on epigenetic and transcriptional regulation and genome integrity. These studies involve the use of multiple transcriptomic genomic epigenomic and proteomic data types including newly developed sequencing singlecell and multiomic methodologies (e.g. Kara et al. PMID:; Clark et al. PMID:. Evaluating and implementing strategies for analysing and integrating these types of data as well as supporting analysis of novel sequencing methods will be major components of this role. The postholder will also be encouraged to develop new capabilities for example longread sequencing or structural modelling with AlphaFold.
Other responsibilities will be aspects of data management including coordinating submission of sequence and proteomic datasets to public repositories and managing the sharing of data across the Institute and with external collaborators.
The successful applicant will have a strong working knowledge of multiple sequencing data types a good understanding of one of the main programming languages an excellent aptitude for bioinformatic tool development and data management and an interest in biological processes. We are looking for applicants who are collaborative with effective communication skills enjoy working in a team and enjoy varying challenges. This position has the potential for flexible working.
This is a limited term appointment withfunding for this post expected to be available for a period of 24 months (proportionately longer if working on a parttime basis).

Please note that you will be appointed on the starting salary of 34500 per annum if you have not yet been awarded your PhD.All newly appointed postdocs will commence on the salary/scale point that reflects the number of years postPhD experience they hold on 30th June in the calendar year they commence employment.
