Support the growth of clean energy at scale across the Western US and Canada with the AWS Energy Team. In this role you will negotiate and execute power supply contracts across AWS regions and create innovative supply structures that integrate our renewable energy portfolio. The candidate will identify key market conditions regulations and market structures to help evaluate opportunities. The optimal candidate will have a results orientated approach analytical skill set and strong financial acumen.
Function Specific Work Activities:
Support the development and of a comprehensive renewable energy and utilities strategy for AWS data centers
Execute electricity supply contracts that create new clean energy capacity on the grid reduce cost minimize risk and leverage opportunities that benefit Amazon
Work collaboratively with Amazon Infrastructure team to support the development of strategic energy sourcing opportunities
Analyze trends and regulations in the energy space to proactively identify opportunities that benefit Amazon

Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) required Economics/Engineering/Business
5 years working in utility/energy industry
2 years of power transaction or contracting experience in US East (PJM MISO SPP SERC) energy markets
Masters Degree (MBA/MS)
Proven ability to evaluate new energy markets utility tariffs policies power contracts or evaluating new energy sourcing opportunities and technologies
Familiarity with renewable credit programs renewable project development power forecasting and scheduling portfolio management theory advanced energy storage or alternative energy resources
Experience building relationships and working with industry stakeholders such as utilities regional power planning agencies renewable project developers project investors and renewable OEMs
The ability to manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous projects with minimal direction
Excellent speakinglisteningwriting skills and attention to details
8 Experience in energy markets energy trading power contract negotiations energy regulations renewable development or energy generation technologies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
