Overview
The Up to 3 Early Intervention program in the Institute for Disability Research Policy & Practice at Utah State University is an inhome pediatric program in northern Utah that strives to provide quality evidencebased therapy services in a nurturing and supportive natural environment.
We are looking for a dynamic creative and committed Communication Specialist (Teacher Early Intervention) to join our interdisciplinary therapy team which is comprised of speechlanguage pathologists occupational therapists physical therapists behavior analysts child development specialists behavior technicians vision and hearing therapists and autism specialists. The successful applicant will provide individual services to children under the age of 3 with developmental delays/disabilities and their families.
The department will either be hiring one fulltime or two parttime (between 50 to 100 time) benefited positions depending on the programs needs and the candidates selected.

Responsibilities
- Assess language cognitivecommunication and social communication of children under three years.
- Coach parents on strategies to improve speech language cognitivecommunication and social communication in their toddlers.
- Develop and implement individualized service plans.
- Instruct parents in small groups to implement evidencebased practices.
- Collaborate with other disciplines as needed.
- Adhere to university travel and driving policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- If required maintain appropriate professional affiliation(s) needed to supervise undergraduate and graduate students during practicum student teaching and internships.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Communicative Disorders.
- One year of experience or educational equivalent evaluating and teaching young children with developmental delays or disabilities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain state license(s) required by the Utah Office of Occupational Licensing applicable to the profession.
- Must have access to reliable transportation necessary for traveling to clients homes.
- Job offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Second Language (Spanish).
- Baby Watch Early Intervention Credential.
- Live in Cache County or Box Elder County.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Funding Statement
The Institute for Disability Research Policy & Practice is one of the largest research and outreach centers at USU and we are largely funded through grants contracts and feeforservice programs. All staff positions at the IDRPP are contingent upon funding and all senior staff at the IDRPP with graduate degrees are responsible for helping to generate funding to support our operations and growth.
